Assaults and Protective Order Violations
Protective order violations and assaults are crimes that are typically charged by police after the fact. In other words, the officers didn’t witness any crime being committed. They formed the belief that a crime was committed based on their investigation that likely relied on statements of parties to the event, witnesses, and visual observations. These types of cases require a high level of scrutiny because witnesses often misremember events or are not truthful about the nature of the altercation or interaction. We will work together to review witness statements and go over the police investigation to ensure the possible defenses to these charges have been reviewed.
